Garageworks Outreach
was truly a Godsend to me in one of the darkest periods of my life. In 2006,
I spent a year between jobs. A single mother, what little savings I had didn’t
last long. I had to let my vehicle go back to the bank…and was faced with
a very uncertain future with no job, no car and no savings. Then my pastor introduced
me to Garageworks Outreach, and I became one of the first beneficiaries of the
fledgeling ministry. The used minivan they provided to me became much more than
transportation. It gave me hope that my situation would be temporary, and became
a means to make sure that it was. The volunteers at Garageworks became a much
needed support system…helping me walk through the struggles and victories
of that year. They even taught me how to change my own oil, giving me a much
needed confidence boost.
Garageworks introduced
me to some of the most caring people I’ve ever met. They accepted me and
my situation without judgment or blame. Through the loving work of this very
caring group of people , Garageworks demonstrated how Jesus Christ works through
people to change lives for the better. I’ll forever be grateful to Him
and to Garageworks for their loving gifts.
